Terms and Conditions

  • Louise Bell’s professional qualifications include: BA (Hons), BSC (Hons), Post Grad. Diploma (Health Visiting) (Distinction), Specialist Community Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse. 
  • Louise is a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).  The NMC’s role is to protect the health and wellbeing of the public and requires all practicing Nurses, Health Visitors and Midwives to be members.
  •  Louise is bound by the NMC’s Code of Professional Conduct which sets out personal and professional responsibility as a health professional to maintain professional standards at all times, to act lawfully in both personal and professional life.
  • Louise Bell is a member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
  • Louise Bell has full professional indemnity insurance to protect the client through the Royal College of Nursing Union with full Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS).
  • Louise Bell’s charges are set in accordance with other private Health Visitors currently practicng in England. There may occasionally be differences in pricing due to geographical location.
  • Charges are made for all consultations including home visits, telephone and email contacts.
  • Invoices will be issued prior to, or as soon as practical after the commencement of each consultation.
  • Payment is due on receipt of an invoice. Further consultations may be withheld if previous invoices remain outstanding.
  • Telephone or email consultation invoices will be issued at the end of each calendar month, detailing time spent on client support. All telephone and email packages must be paid for in advance.
  • Travel costs will be charged at the current NHS petrol rates. The first 10 miles from Wimborne will be included in the price
  • Missed appointments will be charged at the full agreed rate, unless 24 hours prior notice is given.
  • Home visits will be for a minimum of one hour, unless otherwise agreed beforehand.
  • Louise Bell will keep confidential records on all clients for 10 years after the last entry and the client or carer may inspect the files by arrangement. Under the Data Protection Act 1998, Louise Bell’s name has been entered on the Data Protection Register as a “Data Controller”.
  • Louise Bell will maintain her clinical skills and knowledge by continuing with professional development and by regular supervision with other independent and NHS Health Visitors. This will be done by carrying out at least two days a month working as a Health Visitor for the NHS.
  • Louise Bell will maintain client confidentiality. The key principle of the duty of confidence is that information confided should not be used or disclosed further in an identifiable form, except as originally understood by the confider, or with his or her subsequent permission. There are exceptions to the duty of confidence which may make the use or disclosure of confidential information appropriate. Case law has also established that confidentiality can be breached where there is an over riding public interest. Public Interest Under Common Law, staff are permitted to disclose personal information in order to prevent and support detection, investigation and punishment of serious crime and /or to prevent abuse or serious harm to others, where they judge on a case by case basis, that the public good that would be achieved by the disclosure, outweighs the obligation of confidentiality to the individual. The disclosure should be recorded in such a way that there is clear evidence of the reasoning used and the prevailing circumstances. Disclosures should be proportionate and be limited to relevant details. Whenever possible the issue of disclosure should be discussed with the individual concerned and consent sought.
  • Louise Bell will only visit by prior arrangement. Normal working hours are between 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday.  Consultations outside of these hours, during evenings and week-ends will be considered without incurring any extra charge.
  • Telephone and email consultations are welcomed between 8am and 10pm 7 days a week.
  • Louise will weigh and measure your baby, if desired during baby events.  Louise will be unable to make assessments of unwell babies
